Spherical Lens

An achromatic lens, also known as an achromatic cemented Spherical Lenses, consists of two optical lenses joined together, usually a positive low-refractive element and a negative high-refractive element. Achromatic lenses will have obvious advantages over single Optical Glass Lenses of similar diameter and focal length. Compared with single lenses, the additional design freedom provided by the achromatic cemented lens design can further optimize performance.

There are many configurations of achromatic lenses, the most notable being positive lenses, negative lenses, triplet lenses, and aspheric lenses. It should be noted that it can be doublet (two elements) or triplet (three elements); the number of elements has nothing to do with the amount of light it corrects. In other words, Optical Aspherical Lens designed for visible light wavelengths correct for red and blue, regardless of the double or triple configuration.
