However,it is can't be used to CO2 laser transmission applications, because silicon has a strong absorption band at 9 µm. Silicon optics are also particularly well suited for imaging, biomedical, and military applications. Our Quantum Cascade Lasers offer a number of output wavelengths for use with silicon optics. Silicon has a transmission range from 1.2 µm to 8.0 µm. Silicon has a refractive index of 3.423 at 4.58 µm.
Monocrystalline Silicon Windows .They are available uncoated or with an AR coating on both sides that provides <2% average reflectance from 3 - 5 µm (see the Graphs tab for more details).
