K9 is a substitute for N-BK7. H-K9L (N-BK7) is the standard borosilicate crown glass. It has excellent transmittance in the visible and near-infrared part of the spectrum (350 nm-2.0 µm). When UV fused silica has additional advantages, it is usually chosen. K9 (N-BK7) is one of the most commonly used optical glass in high-quality optical components. H-K9L (N-BK7) is a hard glass that can withstand various physical and chemical stresses. It is relatively resistant to scratches and chemical corrosion. It also has low bubble and inclusion content, making it one of the ideal glass materials for precision lenses.
